I'm a poet, essayist, playwright, and teacher based out of Portland, Oregon.
I came into writing through the theater -- I grew up near Washington DC around opera singers and and loved big tragic stories. In college, I went to conservatory theater school in Russia in order to perform Chekhov, flopped out, and found my way to poetry. Though I don't crave the limelight anymore, I relish storytelling and making language that moves the heart.
I'm passionate about community, grief, guinea pigs, and authenticity. I'm currently working on a memoir about losing my mother in my 20s and finding my voice through various failures.
